Being in business since 1971, we've gone through many technology innovations and changes over the years.  From purchasing the very first IBM PC to today's Internet and Mobile technologies, we've been through it all.  With this knowledge and expertise we are now offering our services to help your business; Website Design, Google G-Suite, IT Services, POS, Accounting Software, and more.  We can put it all together for you.  Our goal is to make technology fun so you can concentrate more on running your business and less on figuring out how to set up all that technology.

About  Dave

I began my musical journey at the age of seven with classical piano lessons participating in many local and national audition certificate programs.  At the age of 10, my parents started a piano and organ shop while my father also worked a full-time job at IBM.  I taught private lessons at the shop and performed many concerts demonstrating and marketing pianos and organs.  In 1982 I attended Berklee College of Music in Boston.  After a year at the school, I decided to move back to Vermont and take over the music shop and acquire the Yamaha Music Product Franchise.

1983 was the year MIDI and the DX7 were introduced, so it was a pretty exciting time to venture into the music retail business.  The retail business evolved into a major ecommerce business from 1996-2007 becoming one of the top 10 Yamaha e-retailers in the country.  During all these years my passion has been integrating technology into music education.  I was one of the first to create background tracks for piano method book back in 1989 using the John Thompson Piano Course along with the Yamaha Clavinova Digital Pianos and Portable Keyboards.

In 2010 I decided to focus more on The Contois School of Music bringing this knowledge of music and technology to our local K-12 and Adult students while continuing our Yamaha retail business.  The Contois School of Music Band was also formed to integrate live performance into our programs so our students could collaborate with local professional musicians.

In June of 2017 we decided to discontinue our retail business.  We are now focusing all our efforts on our music school and Contois Media business and are in the design phase of constructing an in-house state of the art music and production studio.  This studio will allow us to continue innovating the integration of music and technology for generations to come.  I enjoy working on these technologies every day, to make learning music more educational and fun for every student of any age.

In 2019, The Contois School of Music was renamed to Soli Music, Inc.  Check us out online:  http://www.SoliMusic.com

Contois Media was started in 2018 to help other businesses navigate through all of today's new technologies such as Website Design, Google Apps, IT Services, Accounting and POS systems.

My favorite things to do are performing on stage with my children, students, and fellow professional musicians and working on my classic cars.
